Negative thinking appears to be more prevalent than positive thinking. It seems that with most people, positive thinking requires some effort, whereas, negative thinking comes easily, and often uninvited. This has much to do with education and the environment one has been living in.

  • Meditate or do yoga: One of the first things we can do is that you can join a yoga class. It will take focus away from the thoughts and will bring attention to your breath. Yoga is also very relaxing, which will help u ease your mind.
  • Smile: Smile is the expression that helps us to be relaxed. U all may have noticed that whenever we see a person smiling, we really feel nice and positive. It really changes our mood and helps to relieve stress. Also by a fact, it takes less muscles to smile than to frown.
  • Believe in Yourself: Instead of saying, “I cannot”, say, “I can”. Most of the time we can, but we choose to say “cannot”, due to fear, laziness or lack of self esteem.
  • Stop Over Generalising The Negative Aspect: Whenever something happens, we all analyse the aspect. The thing that we all do not understand is that we all stop seeing the positive aspects and start over-analysing the negative aspects. We all should stop doing it.
  • Acknowledge Your Progress: Mostly, we all are not happy by what we are and where we are, as we aspire to be somewhere else but its completely okay. Try to acknowledge your progress instead of negative thinking. Aspiring to be more is not bad, but over pressuring ourselves is. So aspire to be more, and do hardwork for it too but don’t forget to analyse your progress. Also never mix analysing oneself for good with ego, they are different.
  • Stop Forcing Your Own Rules On Life: We start making very tight rules for ourselves and start blaming ourselves for everything. We should stop this. Be a little flexible and try to not be so rigid on yourself.
